Boys & Girls Clubs Strive to Stay Connected to Alumni PDF Print E-mail
Concord, NH –Boys & Girls Clubs throughout New Hampshire are committed to re-connecting with their alumni, keeping them informed about what’s happening with the clubs, putting them back in touch with old friends and encouraging them to stay involved.

“The Boys & Girls Clubs are such an integral part of many people’s upbringing,” said Mary Ann Oppenheimer, statewide director of advancement for the Boys & Girls Clubs in New Hampshire. “We’re making a concerted effort to connect with our alumni so they can learn about our newest programs, such as our statewide fitness and nutrition initiatives, find out about our new clubs, stay informed about other club news, and learn about ways to stay involved and support children who are club members.
“We’re hoping alumni will get back in touch with us, become reacquainted with their old club friends and remain energized and inspired by our efforts to improve the lives of young people in our state,” she continued.

Outreach efforts include a new interactive online component on the New Hampshire Boys & Girls Club website, www.nhbgc.com. Innovative online initiatives include a photo contest of former club members, a “Share Your Story” feature where alumni can talk about how their clubs made a difference in their lives and regular updates about club and alumni activities throughout the state.

Since the the first New Hampshire club opened its doors in Manchester in 1906, Boys & Girls Clubs have been serving our state's young people, especially those who need us most. Staffed by professionals in the forefront of youth-development work, the clubs actively enrich the lives of girls and boys ages 6 through 18, with programs and activities in five core areas: character and leadership development; education and career development; health and life skills; the arts; sports, fitness and recreation.
